So.. In the dopesheet.. What sometimes happens if I scale an animation, is that the key frames seem to get scaled to partial frames. So instead of being at frame 4 they seem to be at frame 4.1 or something. And then I have trouble selecting and re-editing those keys later. Is this a bug or is there some way to edit keys at partial frame values?

This is not a bug.
If you select the key in question, in the dopesheet you will jump to the correct frame. You can also use keys W and S to jump to next/previous key.
We might improve on this in the future.

Hope this helps.

The problem with selecting the key is that sometimes you have more than 1 key in the area and there's no way to select only one key because the selector jumps per frame. So if two keyframes are closer than a single frame together (say 4.1 and 4.5) then you can only select both using the mouse. However using W and S should help with that... so I may have a way around the issue for now.

Another small point about the dopesheet.. It's hard to extend the number of frames if you have a very long animation. It would be nice to be able to numerically set the current frame PAST the last frame available and have it jump there and add to total frames at the same time.

Hold shift to prevent the selection box from snapping to frames. The same goes when moving keys, scaling, etc.

You can right click drag to pan the keys left and right. You can also type next to "Current" and press enter to jump to a specific frame. Not sure what you meant be "and add to total frames at the same time". The last frame in an animation is the last key, so jump to a position and then set a key.
