Is the any way to preview bone weights on the fly while editing.
My case is:

I select mesh I want to edit, then I select the bone and adjust weights. Then I want to quickly see how it affects the mesh. Is there any shortcut that I can hold to move the bone around (temporarily, should undo when I unpress the button) and see the result without leaving weight editing mode?

Right now I have to click on the Pose mode, move the bones around and then go all the way back to find my mesh again to continue weight editing.

My recommendation is to directly set the weights in animate mode and prepare a test animation where the involved bones move in a cycle.
You can edit the weights in animate mode which is perfect, and the animation doesn't wreck your setup pose like doing a rapid test and forgetting to undo would.
