  • Spine Locks Up When Browsing Images Folders

Every time I attempt to change the path of the Images folder by hitting the browse button spine locks up and I have to force it closed.

Attached is the screen that Spine freezes up on. I cannot click on any buttons or manually type to change folder name. At this point I have to force close Spine.

What Spine version are you using? What version of Windows are you using? Can you interact with the file dialog while spine is frozen, e.g. select folders, move the dialog around, etc.?

I am running latest version of Spine 3.5.46 Professional. Windows 7.

Once it gets to this state I cannot interact with anything and must force close Spine.

I attempted to reinstall but get same problem with attempting to open a new project. When it opens any browse window Spine hard locks up.

Fixed the issue, sort of.

I had to uninstall Spine from my secondary drive and move it onto my C drive. As long as it was on my other drive I was unable to browse to anything but as soon as it was moved onto the C it worked as normal.

Is your secondary drive a network drive, a partition on the same HDD as the primary drive, or a separate HDD?

It is a separate drive.

Sorry you had trouble with this. Spine tries to use the native Windows file dialog but for various reason this can sometimes fail. If falls back to using the remarkably less nice dialog shown in your screenshot. If it happens again, can you post your spine.log file? This may give us a hint as to why the native dialog failed. You'll find it here:
<user home folder>\Spine\spine.log
