  • Is it possible to load a reference video into spine???

Hey folks!!!

My apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere, but I can't seem to find much on it...
I was wondering if there's any feature that would allow me to load a reference video into spine as a background image and have it track along as the timeline moves. Or if anyone has any alternative techniques that they use???

Thanks!!! 🙂

I'm afraid this feature is currently not supported. We do support adding a "frozen" bone with image attachments as a background reference. You could export a few of the important frames from the video to individual images, then add them as attachments to a bone, and key the images in the timeline to simulate playback of the video.

Perfect!!! Thanks, Mario!!!

Hi guys,

nice work around, but really uncomfortable if I need to do some longer and more organic animation than just some wc loops.
Do you plan to implement reference video/imagesequence feature in near future?

thanks.

Hello finder! Actually, you can export a png sequence from flash/premiere/your program of choice and then import it in spine. You place everything under a slot and then in animation mode you simply change attachment on every keyframe. Since I know this last part might be long I made a script we're using in the studio I work: [suggestion] auto swap for imported frame animations
If the script does not function 100% try writing 500 instead of 100/200 to slow it down, (my computer was faster than the others so it worked on mine but we had to do this for the others).
