Layers To PNG Script Installation

Hello,

Does the LAYERS TO PNG script need to be installed somewhere specific to use with PS?

When I use SCRIPTS > FILE > BROWSE in PS, and navigate to the script in the SPINE SCRIPTS folder, PS gives me an ERROR 24 CUSTOM OPTIONS IS NOT A FUNCTION warning.

Should the script work via the browsing path? Does PS need to be the latest release? I am currently working with a very old copy of PS, wondering if this is the issue I am running into with the script. What version of PS is required to run the script?

Advice would be most appreciated as I am trialing Spine to see if it will work for a project.

Which Photoshop are you using?
I have a version of the script from about one and a half years ago. I used it with Photoshop CS5 and and now with CS6 and it works just fine.

It doesn't need installation and you can store it anywhere. I just keep it in my dropbox and use it from there.

Thank you for this info - I have updated my PS and the script is now working.

One more question if I may: how do I get the images to all load up in the positions that they have in PS so that I do not have to re-arrange them all back into thier correct places? Currently they come in all separated from one another rather than as an assembled character they way that they are in PS.

The photoshop script should also export a .json file (which contains all the alignments).
You can import that json in Spine using Spine Menu>Import Data...

Make sure you delete the empty skeleton after you import the json so you don't get confused.

Awesome, this worked beautifully! I was making the mistake of importing the PNG's instead of the JSON...

Note that you can bind the script to a hotkey in PS. In newer versions this can be done in the actual hotkeys preferences window. In older versions you can do it using actions.
