Align Tool?

This is possibly a feature request.

I'm still fairly new at this program, but I've seem to handle it okay now.

The thing is I often seem to find myself missing an Align tool (Like in 3ds Max for instance) in SetUp and here's why:

I'm animating a character, who's draw in 3/4, so when he walk towards left his right hand (the hole arm) is behind the body. Fine! Then he's stops and touch his chest, with right hand.

I didn't foresee this was an issue before I had to use it-

So now I go to the image folder> copy the hand and rest of the arm> give it appropriate names> go to spine and hit image refresh > add images to new slot under the same bones> Make sure it's in front in Draw Order> and BAM new image is not aligned with old. Here the tool would come in handy.

There's always something that wasn't thought of, therefore copies are so common (for me anyway) and easy aligning would be great.

How do you guys do it?

...Aaaand that's what I've been doing so far!!! However, that takes a lot of clicks and 5 x Crtl C and Crtl V.

An Align tool would make that work process easier. Look at the align tool in 3ds Max for instance. That's such a handy tool.

If there's already a way to copy all position/rotation/scale quick and easy, differently from what I do, then let me know.

To copy a bone's transform (position, rotation, scale) properties from one bone to another:
(1) In Setup or Animate mode
(2) Click on a bone to select it.
(3) CTRL + C
(4) Click on the other bone to select it.
(5) CTRL + V
(6) You just copied transform properties from one bone to another. Go have a beer.

You can click on the bone in the viewport or in Tree view. Either way works.

This may not have solved your problem but I hope it was helpful.
It's kinda unintuitive, I think. It feels like if you click and copy a bone, it would paste a duplicate of the bone when you CTRL+V. But it doesn't.

I assumed the problem was in setup mode, not animaton mode?

Yes, it was in set-up mode.

But I just tested it with a new image in Set Up. The Crtl-C/V also works there on images!!!! It copies everything...Hahaha nice. It works. One click align... That was what I was looking for.

with bones, if its a lot of images, you can just export + edit the json + import. But that assumes you are confident is json reading+writing

Whenever I've imported the JSON once, I never touch it again. That just seems to f**k everything up if it's done again, so I'm not that confident with it.

Prefer the other method since it's usually only one or two pics at the time and much easier 🙂
