Is there any possibility for .bip, .bvh, .vns, .fbx, .c3d MOCAP format import ?
Maybe not a full compatibility but skeleton and keyframes matches would be cool.

I would have to research mocap more before being able to say how useful this would be. Any links on the subject would be helpful.

WebAnimate is able to use a 3D mocap to create a 2d animation.
It's not clear what is the export format, maybe it could be converted to the spine json format ?
hopefully in the near future you guys can incorporate mocap for spine updates! oh please lol.
It's unfortunately not trivial and not high on our list. The problem comes with the Z axis. It needs some really fancy math to scale bones correctly based on how things move on the Z axis. In the end it won't be perfect and will take a lot of manual tweaking.
The beauty of 2D is that it is much simpler to animate than 3D, so personally I don't see Spine being able to read mocap data as a very big advantage, but I have been known to be wrong
Any update on this? Creature had this and let you pose the 3d model in a suitable angle. I think it made a lot of keyframes though so it would be great with some cleanup too. It would be really cool to ser in Spine which is my number 1 animation tool now
I agree it would be neat, though it's a high effort feature and I'm worry the results may be difficult to use, eg don't match the skeleton well, too many keys, too hard to edit the generated keys manually, etc. I'm afraid we have a lot of other features planned before we can get to this.
Thanks for the reply. Would it be technically possible for someone to write an importer that would make a json file to import a mocap fil into and animation to load or how does the spine format work?
Sure, the JSON format is documented here:
Spine: JSON export format
Note it probably won't be terribly easy!
My new app FBX2Spine has been released on Steam and Itch.io. It does exactly what you're talking about.
Currently, both sites are in the approval phase.
