  • Issue with Bone/Slot/Attachment Selection in Spine 4.2

Hello Spine community,
I've encountered a frustrating selection problem with Spine 4.2.

When I select a bone, slot, or attachment from the hierarchy tree:

The item appears selected in the tree view
However, it doesn't actually become selected in the editor panel (both Setup and Animation modes)
I need to click the same item 4-5 times in the tree before it properly selects in the editor, graph editor, and Dope Sheet

This bug is causing me to accidentally create animations on incorrect slots and bones, severely impacting my workflow accuracy.

What I've Tried:
Fresh installation with different licenses
Resetting the UI and Spine settings
Upgrading my Mac

None of these solutions have resolved the issue. This selection problem is significantly impacting my workflow, and I cannot revert to a previous Spine version.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    canahmet Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Are you using a stylus? The issue of needing to click the same item multiple times to make the correct selection sounds similar to a previous report from a user who mentioned that keys were not being removed by double clicking properly when using a stylus. At that time, we found that moving the mouse even slightly (by just 1 pixel) while holding the button down triggered a drag operation. I suspect a similar misrecognition might be occurring when you try to select an area in the tree view.
    If that's the case, the issue should already be resolved in the latest version, 4.2.40, so please try updating your editor.

    If you're not using a stylus, could you please share a video showing the issue? We haven't received any other reports that match your situation exactly, so it's possible something in your environment is affecting it. Any additional information you can provide to help us reproduce the issue would be greatly appreciated.

      I have Cintiq connected to my Mac with another third screen. But while working on Spine I just use mouse and put away my stylus. I tried latest stable 4.2.40v and the problem is still occurring. I'm going to share a screen record soon..
