  • Integrating Spine previews in asset manager software

Hey,

I am Matthäus, one of the developers of Anchorpoint (anchorpoint.app). We are building an asset manager for game developers. Our users are also using Spine and requested the ability to show thumbnails and previews of Spine files.

If we would implement such a feature, how is licensing handled here? Our product is not a game but a tool for game developers. Do we need a kind of developer/ partner license or something similar?

I would really appreciate any help here

Okay, how can I apply for a developer license?

mniedoba Sorry, Spinebot's answer was inaccurate. You need a valid Spine licence whenever you integrate the Spine runtime into your product, not just for games, so you definitely need to get a licence, but we don't offer such a licence called a developer/partner licence. The licence you need is the same as the one on the purchase page: https://esotericsoftware.com/spine-purchase

Which licence you need to buy depends on whether your last 12 months' revenue is above the revenue threshold. If it is under the revenue threshold, you can buy an Essential licence. If it does, you need an Enterprise licence.

Thank you so much! This makes it clear for me.
