  • "Change bones color in weight panel"

Hello!
Is there a way to change the color of a bone in the bindings and weighing panel?
My problem is that I have two bones that the program has assigned a color that is too similar, and I can barely distinguish them.
As you can see, the nose and mouth have almost the same color, and I would like to assign a totally different one to one of the two bones!

    Hello!

Currently, you cannot directly change the color of a bone in the weights panel. However, you can reorder the bones in the weights view, which will change the colors assigned to them. This can help differentiate between bones with similar colors. To reorder the bones, you can drag them up and down in the list. Note that this also affects the draw order if the mesh overlaps itself.

Additionally, you can change the color of bones in the tree and viewport to make selection easier. This can be done by selecting the bones and setting their color in the properties panel. This won't change the color in the weights panel but can help with overall organization and visibility.

For more information, you can refer to the Bones - Spine User Guide.

    I hope this helps!

iteam As Spinebot answered, the color of the bones list in the weights view is determined by the order. The top bone is always light blue and the second bone is always magenta. Thanks to this, it is convenient when multiple meshes are bound to the same bones and the same order and you want to compare the weights of them, but on the other hand, meshes like yours that are bound to many bones, some bones will have similar color schemes and it can be confusing. You may want to check the Selected option in the Weights view. When checked, pie charts are only drawn for selected vertices and vertices that have weights for bones selected in the bone list:

In the example in the image above, the colors of the front-leg7 and belly bones are quite similar, but if only belly is selected, only the weights for the belly bone will be displayed, which will be easier to recognize.

iteam if the blues are confusing, you can also reorder the bones in the weights view. The color scheme is fixed but the bone order is not! once done if needed you can put them back in the same order.
