  • Seeking Insights on Using Spine with Godot

Hello Dev Community,

I'm currently a solo developer contemplating a potential shift from Unity to Godot. A crucial factor in my decision is Spine compatibility, and I've heard that Esoteric Software has released an official Spine-Godot runtime.

For those who have experience with it, how well does the Spine-Godot runtime work? Have you encountered any issues or challenges?

Appreciate any insights you can share on this matter!

Spine-Godot runtime does not expose Attachement API, like Unity runtime. So if you want to load some image from external sources for runtime skin purposes, then it's not possible right now. Otherwise, it seems to be functional unless you run across not being able to import skeletons at all, which seems to happen to some but not others: https://esotericsoftware.com/forum/d/24839-cant-import-skeletons/25
