In general skeleton baking of an attachment-swapping blinking animation like the Doi
skeleton is supported. We could also not reproduce any issue on our end, baking the Doi
skeleton and playing the main
animation on the Mecanim Base Layer
and at the same time playing the blink
animation on a second Mecanim layer with weight 1 worked without issues on our end, the blinking animation was overlaid onto the movement of the main animation as expected.
