Sorry, the server could not be contacted

I have just purchased Spine Essentials, downloaded the dmg from my nearest server (Germany). I installed Spine successfully, was able to launch it and, on seeing that the resolution was tiny, went to Settings and set the interface resolution to the maximum setting. I then quit Spine and relaunched and then got the 'Sorry, the server could not be contacted' message.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Spine. I don't have a firewall running.

I launched Spine from the command line and get the following error message. Can you help? :

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. The version of the Spine launcher you are using is too old. Could you please download the latest installer from your license page and reinstall Spine? (I understand you have tried reinstalling Spine, but updating the launcher requires the latest installer.) Please let us know if the problem still occurs with the latest Spine launcher.

Thanks for your reply. That's exactly what I did. Yesterday I purchased Spine Essential, received an email with the Spine Essential licence, clicked on the license page link contained within and then downloaded Spine from the Frankfurt server. Was able to launch successfully the first time, then 2nd time received the ;Sorry the server cannot be contacted; message. Then uninstalled / reinstalled from the same page multiple times. Restarted computer.

I have done the exact same steps today and now it works. Which I am very happy about. But not sure why it works today and not yesterday....

Hmmm, that's weird. The log you posted shows the version of the Spine launcher as 3.7.41, and if you installed it using the latest installer, it would definitely not be this version. Could you please tell us what launcher version you are currently using? The launcher version can be found in the lower right corner of the launcher window, or by opening the Settings dialog after launching the editor and checking at the Launcher section.

Thank you for sharing the version information, your launcher is indeed the latest version. However, why are you using the 3.7 beta version? You should be cautious about updating major and minor versions, but basically the patch version can be updated without any problem. We recommend using the latest 3.7 (3.7.94), as older beta versions of the editor may be removed in the future.
