alesigner Have a good day guys. I got a trouble with skin mix and match feature. I have multiple skins with separated body parts. And these parts are much different in dimension aspect. So when I combine them, sometimes they look disconnected. There is no way to make them fit others. Like... if A looks well with B, C... it looks bad when combining with D, etc. Is there any way to fix it rather than trying to redraw the parts to make skins look similar. Hope to hear your solution.
Erika Hello, Fitting skins that don't have joints in the same location can prove to be very hard. The key for a reskin to work compared to the original model is that the joints all match in placement. If this is not the case, it may be worth to redraw the pieces so they fit this requirement. A second, more complex, option is to use skin constraints to rearrange the position of bones. Here's an example of the second approach: I hope this helps!
alesigner Thank you Erika. Intentionally I am going to ask another question now. 😃 So if I use different meshes for body parts in different skins, does it cost more resource to run in game? I don't want to use Linked Mesh because my character part dimensions varies so a single mesh can't not fit all skins.
Erika To reuse your phrasing, only the active meshes cost resources to run in game. So the answer is: it depends on how you structure a mesh compared to another, but it's not like having 20 skins that are not active is going to use more resources other than the file size if they are not active.
