  • What is Spine Runtimes?

Hi everyone, I know this question isnt directly related to game maker, but since I just bought the Spine Essential to use for my game maker project, I thought this might be an okay place to ask.

I bought Spine Essential to use for my animations, but I am confused as to what Spine Runtimes is, and the other general license stuff. I was reading through the license agreement but a lot of it is confusing to me. Is there anything I really need to watch out for if I use animations made in Spine for my game? I figured if I bought Spine, I am free to use my animations created in it in my game with no problems. Can anyone shed a bit of light on this? I appreciate any info in advance.

Hi, welcome to the Spine forum!

I figured if I bought Spine, I am free to use my animations created in it in my game with no problems.

Yes, your understanding is correct. The Spine license permits both the use of the Spine editor and the integration of the Spine runtime into your game to implement Spine animations.

The important note is that the Spine Essential and Professional are licensed to a named person. Therefore, you cannot share your license with others.
