  • Exported Images from Affinity Designer are missalligned

Hello
I created a character in Affinity Designer on the iPad. Then I exported the image via the Spline Export feature (from the Desktop App). In Affinity Designer the character itself is properly aligned. However when I try to import the Data into Spine the import works successfully but the different pieces of the character are not aligned properly.

I did the following:

  • Created slices for the images I want to export
  • Selected the Spine JSON Batch Builder option and exported it out
  • Imported the data via .json file into Spine

I also made sure that I did not have any weird preset etc. everything was default.

I am using Affinity Designer Version 1.9.3 and Spine Version 4.0.13 Essentials.

I added screenshots of the problem and also the affinity designer file in the attachment (had to zip it).

Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Can you please post the JSON and images that AD gives? I don't have AD right now to create them myself.

Of course 🙂
I have added the exported images as well as the generated .json file in the attachment.

If there is anything more I can provide I will gladly do so 🙂.

Alright I got it fixed 🙂.
I noticed that I had set the Unit to points instead of pixels. Also I changed my dpi settings from 144 to 300. Then I recreated the slices and exported again. Now everything works fine. If anyone needs to change the unit you can do that in file -> document setup.

So this was not really a bug of spine as the generated json had some really strange values for the x and y position in it. I think this can be closed 🙂.

Aha, glad you figured it out! I couldn't tell from the data alone what was the issue. We'll keep it in mind if someone else runs into strange data coming from AD. Cheers!

I had this same problem. My document was 144dpi. Changing it to 300 fixed it. Thanks @YahArt!
