  • Proper guide for Cloth/Hair Physics anywhere?

I would really like to start experimenting with cloth physics, as animating the cloth (and hair) directly on a character is quite a hassle. However the only implementation for this I can find is on a video from 2015 with a cape which doesn't really explain implementation well and also states that the way it was done is highly inefficient.

Would anyone mind pointing me in the proper direction for something like this?
I'm using Unity if it's relevant to the answer.

Animating clothes is not that hard in spine. and honestly I dont use complex rigs for clothes. Just bind them to easy to control bones and animate, sometimes frame by frame
but anyway check this video and if still need help let us see the image you work with. maybe we can suggest better how to rig.

If you mean hanging clothes, hair and other, ahem... "boneless" things that should swing as the consequence of primary motion, then I suggest you take a look at the Offset section of the user guide, and make it your mantra.

I wouldn't even try with physics in Unity, unless you could delay the reaction of the overridden bones. They wouldn't look natural otherwise. And even then I highly doubt it would look as good as animating them yourself.
