I thought that "Skeleton Ragdoll 2D" would be perfect for what I'm looking to do, but I can't seem to get it to work as expected.
I would like to setup something where, if you shoot a character's leg, then everything from their thigh bone down to their foot would just kind of go limp, so they could still run, but the injured leg would just dangle & flop around, while still attached to their hip (or whatever the starting bone's parent is). Same with shooting their arm, or whatever else. I don't necessarily need a "realistic transition" where they have to hop on one foot or anything yet, I'm mostly JUST trying to get the ragdoll part to work as expected for now.
For now, my character is using IK legs, so the foot target or whatever is down on the ground. When I set the thigh to do the ragdoll thing, then it seems like the foot just gets stuck in the ground, so you can run off to the side, and their thigh will stretch across the screen, from wherever your character is, all the way back to where they started, and the leg will mostly be stuck to the floor like it's glued. You can see in the Editor/Scene window, the starting bone dragging across the floor behind your character, instead of staying attached to the body.
Am I misunderstanding the way this is supposed to work?
Here is an example of what happens when I set the thigh as the starting bone, and then jump on top of a box.
