Hey there.
So I'm just trying to get this plugin working in Unity 4.5.3. I can see all the examples working just fine.
I've got some new assets from our artist, and I'm trying to instantiate what they've sent me. I've been following this guide (https://github.com/pharan/spine-unity-docs/blob/master/Getting%20Started.md#importing-into-unity), and everything works fine up until step 4, where I get this error;
NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
SpineEditorUtilities.InstantiateSkeletonAnimation (.SkeletonDataAsset skeletonDataAsset, System.String skinName) (at Assets/spine-unity/Editor/SpineEditorUtilities.cs:969)
SpineEditorUtilities.InstantiateSkeletonAnimation () (at Assets/spine-unity/Editor/SpineEditorUtilities.cs:942)
Looking at where this is being thrown from is here;
public static SkeletonAnimation InstantiateSkeletonAnimation (SkeletonDataAsset skeletonDataAsset, string skinName) {
return InstantiateSkeletonAnimation(skeletonDataAsset, skeletonDataAsset.GetSkeletonData(true).FindSkin(skinName));
}
It would appear (from debugging) that the "skinName" variable is not set.
I should point out that this is NOT happening with the example assets. So, therefore, I think I am either importing them incorrectly, or the artist is not exporting it correctly.
Could anyone shed any light on this?
